FRESHMAN YEAR IS HALF OVER:
Studying, worrying, frantically cramming for your next exam—thank goodness midterms are over! No more stress…except the anxiety of waiting for my grades. This is the first year I have ever taken midterms, and I have to say, they were not as bad as I expected. Most of my midterms were challenging, but my hardest ones were not as impossible as I believed they would be!
The end of midterms also marks another major milestone in my life: the end of the first half of my freshman year. Since September, I have been adjusting to a completely new life, at a different school, interacting with different people. It has been a great experience for me. I’ve gotten away from a small, private Catholic school in a little town about an hour away from Philly, and I have been able to learn so much and meet entirely new people (not that I don’t love Doylestown, of course). It’s just been so exciting for me to finally escape the small-town school and finally go somewhere where I don’t know everyone’s parents and their life story. Villa girls come from all over this area of Pennsylvania!
I also love the whole high school life. My classes are preparing me for the next big step, college, while the school gives me many social opportunities. Having lockers and desperately rushing from one class in the main hall to English class on the other side of the building on the third floor is definitely new for me as well. My first half of the year has been full of (ah, how ironic) firsts, and I know I will continue to love Villa just as much when the second half is over!
