HAPPY SUMMER!
Ah, so Junior Year and the roller coaster of emotions that accompany it is coming to an end. In the past two months, I have gone to Six Flags for Physics Day and the Constitution Center for a field trip, taken three AP tests, danced at Villa’s first Mini-THON, gone to the Aloha Dance and Prom, done some more college standardized testing, slept over at Villa, experienced Spirit Day, and said goodbye to the Seniors on their last day of classes (and threw some great parties for them, especially in English). Indeed, Junior Year is quite busy; however, I have had a great year.
Yes, some of my friends and I did sleep at Villa after the Aloha Dance last Saturday. This was a result of the Villa Auction, where my mom bid and won this opportunity. After a great final Villa dance, with a great picnic beforehand for the Seniors (Mexican fiesta-themed with some great walking tacos), we went to the Villa Student Lounge and played some insane games and trivia, ate, and told stories. Needless to say, we went to bed quite late. After breakfast the next morning, I went home and took a two-hour nap.
Per usual, Spring Spirit Day remains my favorite Villa event of the year. This year we added a water balloon contest, which I helped run, and that just added to the water fun. Though it was pouring in the morning, we lucked out when
the weather ended up sunny and warm. As rising Seniors, my friends and I participated in every activity, especially the Slip and Slide.
Truly, all the enjoyable events at Villa have helped make my year memorable. I was warned about the craziness of Junior Year, but I hear that the fun I had this year as an upperclassman just continues in Senior Year. Also, as of
June 1st, I will hopefully be done with all my college standardized testing! Have a great summer everyone!
