IT GOES SO FAST:
I’ve heard it said plenty of times before, and you will certainly hear it yourselves in the near future -- "These four years go by FAST.” I never took that too seriously, but as I am now being addressed by people as a “rising Senior,” I have really realized how accurate that warning was. As a rising Senior, I can now say that I’ve been to three formals; three school retreats; three Aloha, Back-to-School, and Halloween dances; three Father-Daughter Dances, three Spirit Weeks and Spirit Days, one Prom, one Mini-THON, one Junior Camden service trip; and plenty of other Villa-musts that make me recognize that Villa is truly a one-of-a-kind school.
Who else (other than Villa girls) can truthfully say that they got to race one of their teachers down the Slip-n-Slide at Spirit Day? Or who else can say that they went to their school’s first Mini-THON and raised over $43,000 for pediatric cancer? Whether it’s something as normal as one of my last classes as a Junior, or as unique as Villa’s spring Spirit Day, I truly value Villa for the amazing years it has brought to me, and I certainly look forward to my last year here next year.
I cannot wait to take advantage of every opportunity I have next year because, as I said before, “These four years go by FAST.” If you are nervous about entering high school, don’t let that timidity keep you from soaking up every unique opportunity of high school: go to all the dances, go do something that you never thought you would normally do. These four years of high school are the time to spread yourself out, and Villa is certainly the best place to do it!
