JUNIOR YEAR:
It seems like just yesterday that summer ended and my Junior year at Villa began. I have already experienced so many great events and made so many memories. Each year at Villa is filled with additional joys and surprises that make me ever so grateful that I attend such a wonderful school. Let’s be real – I can hardly imagine teachers at other schools choreographing lip-syncing routines just to get everyone enthusiastic for the Annual Fund! (Shout out to Z, G, W, Fitz, and Posner, affectionately known as Z and the Main Hallway Boyz)
The absolute highlight of the year for me thus far has been Ring Day. We Juniors had a lovely Mass, after which we received our gorgeous class rings! More than just a new accessory, this ring to me symbolizes my pride in my school and my commitment to try my best each and every day. It serves as a reminder the live out our motto “Always more, Always better, Always with love.”
To celebrate Halloween, I always make sure to attend Villa’s annual Harvest Dance. Everyone dressed up and had a blast! I dressed as Taylor Swift and some friends of mine dressed as the Blues Brothers. The Haunted House was filled with strobe lights and surprises, creating a totally creepy effect. I haven’t had the time to go trick-or-treating the past few years, but the going to the Harvest Dance completely makes up for it.
Now, the Thanksgiving Feast is just around the corner! As a whole half day dedicated to stuffing ourselves with food, it is one of the most anticipated days of the year. Sitting together with the whole Villa community just shows how much Villa is one big family. I am thankful for many things this year, big and small, and the feast creates a joyous environment to offer up my thanks.
Villa’s fall musical Cinderella was a huge success! My buddies were the lead roles and I experienced an excellent performance from everyone. The show’s catchy tunes and colorful costumes made for a great night out! Great Job girls! (See photo below of me and step-sister Henrietta :), aka Caitlyn Sullivan.)
