Can you smell it? The euphoric scent in the air, the chirping birds and enjoyable weather heralding its arrival. Ah, yes. It’s springtime again. Normally a reason for shorts and shirts sans coats. However, it seems Pennsylvania will continue to act like a jilted lover, and oscillate between freezing and acceptably warm weather, mainly the former. Which is simply…fantastic. I just adore searching frantically for my elusive sweater several weeks after, did I mention after, the first day of spring (warmth and mild conditions, yeah right).
Spring also reminds us of summer, which in turn encourages us to count the weeks of school left. While exciting, the end of the year also brings about the cause of every students’ nightmare: finals (cue dramatic music and flashing lights).
While still terrified, I am not as utterly petrified as I was when midterms rolled around. You may have seen my reaction to them in my previous post. But, I know what to expect now; although of course, my English exam is scaring me witless regardless.
Nevertheless, I am very thrilled to be coming to the final (no pun intended, of course) stretch of my Freshman year. New everything filled my Freshman year: new people, new subjects, new environment. I have enjoyed my first year so much, and cannot believe it is already almost over. Honestly, it feels as though I had just walked into school for the first time and discovered we did not have functioning lockers… That, however, is another tale altogether.
I am also extremely enthusiastic about next year. I cannot wait to talk to new people and to study different subjects. My Sophomore year will be full of opportunities and new experiences. Not to mention summer is between my finals and the beginning of my Sophomore year!
Now, all I need to do is pass my finals…
