It’s the name that everyone knows by the end of their Freshman year at Villa; a name like no other. It influences our lives for the better. It brings us happiness similar to when we eat cookies (yes, it is as powerful as that). You may be thinking I am talking about someone amazing, and yes, I am. It is…...myself! No, not really. It’s......
On Tuesday morning, December 3, 2013, the students of Villa expected to return to school after Thanksgiving break for an uneventful day, but never say never at Villa. It was announced that there was going to be an assembly, so the student body walked into the gym, befuddled by the surprise. There was much speculation about what would happen, which added to the uneasy feeling in the gym. Thankfully, a teacher finally stepped up to the microphone and announced the name.
All of the Villa students gasped in joyous shock and stood to applaud her like she was a rock star. She looked jovial and astonished by our warm welcome, and then everyone calmed down a bit to allow her to speak. She did her presentation, thoroughly entertaining us with her phenomenal humor along the way. She was able to teach us many messages such as waiting for marriage, not becoming pregnant as a teen, and never choosing abortion. Her entire presentation was outstanding, so much that we stood up and applauded her again at the end of it. It was a day that I won’t soon forget. I was so thankful that Villa cares so much about its students to ask her to visit. Everyone loved her in Mr. B’s videos in Freshman year, so to see her live was a great day for everybody!
