RING DAY 2012:
I can’t believe I’m already well on my way through my Junior Year at Villa! I remember clearly being told in eighth grade how quickly these four years would go; I truly didn’t believe them until now. One of the benefits of being a Junior is finally getting your class ring on Ring Day!
I had been looking forward to Ring Day ever since I was a Freshman. It was the first major Villa event I remember being a part of. I remember still being a little hesitant and wary of this big new school, frightened that I would never feel the unity with my new classmates that I had with my old ones. Seeing those Juniors receive their rings, symbols of unity and family, inspired me. It made me realize that Villa was my new family.
This school really has become my extended family. Finally, after three years, I was able to walk across that stage with not just classmates, but sisters. We are united with that gold and blue gem, and I know that these girls will be there for me for life. The entire day was amazing, honestly. We went out and had a delicious lunch in a beautiful ballroom (not to mention its many picturesque opportunities for Facebook photos). Spending the day with my family and my Villa family was something I’ll never forget.
My Ring Day was one of my best memories of Villa so far! The whole thing reaffirmed in me how blessed I am to have a school where I feel completely at home. I can’t wait for my next wonderful Villa experience!
