THROUGH THE EYES OF A SENIOR:
Hello to all! For those who may not already know, my name is Lindsey Eagen, and I am now a senior here at Villa Joseph Marie. I was a blogger last year, and I am glad to reintroduce myself with the first blog post of the 2012-2013 school year. I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you throughout the year.
I would love to begin by talking about the view from the top of the school, especially compared to previous years. As a student in the senior class, I must say I am overwhelmed but extremely excited about this year. Of course it is difficult facing SAT’s and college decisions while balancing school work, which still matters, and a social life, but there are such positive aspects too! Like the Senior Retreat this week, for example.
This message goes out to all of the classes behind me—you will love being a senior! It feels completely different walking down the hallways these days than ever before. I have a new confidence and sure pride in toeing the fine line between high school and the future. I hope that by sharing my positive outlook as a senior at Villa, I can instill peace for all who are anxious, anticipation for all who are indifferent, and reinforcement for all who have the greatest expectations.
I expect the best for this year as we transition into the “lucky thirteen.” I hope that all students at Villa find themselves enjoying every moment they can, both good and bad. Take the bad as a way to gain strength and the good as your fondest memories to keep. Go to dances, get involved, make everybody laugh a lot—that’s easy to do here. Have fun, but be serious, be successful, and enjoy your journey to where I am now. Be secure in knowing that no matter how good it is now, it gets even better as you proceed. Have a great year!
